Performance, tableau vivant, expo photo et écriture

Ca se passe dans un petit local dans la gare de la Chapelle à Bruxelles. Une expo photo, série d’autoportraits, au milieu de laquelle pose une femme immobile dans un décor. Pendant deux semaines, elle se présente différemment tous les jours dans un décor différent. Chaque jour se dévoile une nouvelle facette de son être femme qui questionne les stéréotypes traditionnels.

Après la performance, vient l’écriture du journal intime : Comment les gens m’ont perçue aujourd’hui ? Comment ils m’ont regardé, approché, parlé ? Qu’est-ce qu’ils ont dit ? Le texte est affiché le lendemain à la porte du local comme réponse et dialogue avec le spectateur. A la base cette question : Selon ce que je porte quelles personnes j’attire ? Quel genre de regard ?

It happened in a 15 square meter room in La Chapelle railway station in Brussels. There was a photo exhibition and a performance. The photo exhibition is a collection of self-portraits. I disguised myself into several characters to question the traditional woman stereotypes. Each day I choose a photo from the exhibition and perform it live, posing still and silent for one hour interpreting the character in its setting.

Visitors would discover each day a different character and are invited to come in the setting with the model or without her to have a picture. After the performance, I would write the character’s diary and publish it next day at the door entrance of the exhibition, how I felt interpreting this character and how it was perceived by visitors.
