Patricia Barakat est performeure et artiste. Elle débute son parcours théâtral à la Cartoucherie de Vincennes à Paris puis suit un master au Centre d’Etudes Théâtrales de Louvain-la-neuve en Belgique. Elle a collaboré comme comédienne et metteure en scène avec plusieurs compagnies : Arcinolether, Pilot Group, Cirque Barbette, Noja dance company, etc. Elle fonde la compagnie Blastprojekt specialisée dans la création de “tableaux vivants” dans l’espace public et des workshops pluridisciplinaires : Corps/ Jeu matière.

Depuis 2007, elle travaille dans l’espace public, menant des projets d’art relationnel ou site specific. La coopération du public est essentielle dans son questionnement de la réappropriation de cet espace et de la cohabitation des différentes communautés. Elle a notamment creusé les thèmes du corps et de l’identité au travers des mots.

Patricia Barakat is a performance artist, graduated in Theatre Studies from the Catholic University of Louvain in Belgium. She worked as an actress and stage director for many live art companies such as: Arcinolether, Pilot Group, Cirque Barbette, Noja dance company, etc. She actually lives and works in Brussels where she founded Blastprojekt company specialized in creating “tableaux vivants” in public spaces and leading multidisciplinary workshops.

Since 2007, she is working in public spaces mostly with relational art projects. The cooperation with the people is a very important part of her work as she is concerned of how people can appropriate public spaces by giving creative answers to it. For the last years, she focused on 3 main themes: identities, body and the city.
